sayhey

Hey, I'm Tom.

Backend & database engineer from Leipzig. I build the data layer behind products: databases, business logic, and APIs. And LED walls at night.

/ about

At the desk I mostly dig the data layer — PostgreSQL, business logic, APIs. Swift and Next.js when the product needs them. Apple fanboy by default.

On stage it's LED walls, every nerd's dream. Used to be just a hobby, until I heard the "turn your hobby into a job" line one too many times.

Outside of that I'm into figuring myself out a bit, like going to the gym, and I'm trying to learn how to cook (I rly try lol).
Mostly though, balancing nerd stuff and having a social life somehow.

Work in progress, you know.

Platform for event-tech rental

Multiple rental companies under one roof — with a solid database behind it: about 30 tables, 60+ stored procedures, and a roles/permissions model for the permission-driven backoffice. On the web, a public shop with an LED-wall configurator and PDF quote generation. On the Mac, an internal tool for master data, users, media, scheduling, inventory, and live monitoring; the iPhone handles the warehouse as a scanner. Both apps from one Swift codebase, down to a custom driver for a label printer.
